Food coloring makers bank on this day
Clearly not breakable but I try
magical
So I’m sitting at home and its 2:30 in the afternoon and I’m wondering to myself why its so loud outside. I look through my window and see streams and streams of green drunkards rolling through the street. How lame am I after living in Chicago for two years to not know that St. Patrick’s day is celebrated the weekend before AND after the actual day. I guess it’s a little strange with it falling on a Thursday this year. I mean, what are you supposed to do except spend both weekends enjoying healthy libations.
So I quickly rummage through the closet to find any articles of clothing that I have that might be green, only to discover what I already knew, that I don’t own anything green. A moment of panic sets in as imagine the stream of ridicule that is sure to follow me through out the day if I don’t wear green. Luckily, hiding in my pile of t-shirts that I used to wear but don’t wear anymore for reasons or another, is my good ole’ intercourse PA shirt. Hooray for trendy t-shirts 2000’s.
So off I go starting at Blue Frog downtown where I’m immediately greeted by green beer…followed by a trounce to Bull and Bear where I am clearly enjoying the green metal bud light bottles. What a fabulous invention! And then, ending the evening at the long room where my facial color clearly indicates a healthy dose of inebriation. When suddenly a magical non-pizza cheesey bread concoction from Papa something or anothers appears. It may just be the most amazing piece of cheese and bread I have ever eaten in my life. So much for low carbs.
Overall a very successful first St. Patrick’s day celebration in Chitown…looking forward to next weekend.
